Privacy Policy | Magna Integrated Services

Who We Are

Magna Integrated Services (BIN 1001690057), a sole proprietorship registered in Ontario, provides commercial and residential building services in Durham and York Regions, Ontario. In this policy, "we," "our," and "us" refer to Magna Integrated Services.

We handle personal information in accordance with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and, where it applies to our commercial messages, Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).

Information We Collect

We collect only what we need in order to quote and carry out work. That may include:

  • Your name, phone number, email address, and the address of the property concerned
  • The company or property management firm you represent, where applicable
  • Details of the work you're asking about — service type, scope, access constraints, photographs you send us
  • Records of our correspondence with you, including quotes, invoices, and scheduling
  • Technical information collected automatically when you visit this website: IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, and referring pages

We do not collect payment card details through this website.

How We Use It

  • To prepare and send you a quote
  • To schedule, carry out, and invoice work you've asked us to do
  • To contact you about an active job or an inquiry you've made
  • To keep records required for warranty, insurance, and tax purposes
  • To send occasional service reminders or offers, only where you've consented
  • To understand how this website is used so we can improve it

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. Ever.

Your Consent

When you submit a form on this website, you're giving us express consent to contact you about your request by phone, email, or text message. That consent is recorded with the date and time you gave it.

You can withdraw consent at any time, subject to legal or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice. Withdrawing consent for marketing messages won't stop us from contacting you about work that is already underway.

Email and Text Messages

Every commercial electronic message we send identifies us, includes our contact information, and provides a way to unsubscribe. To stop receiving them:

  • Text messages — reply STOP to any message from us
  • Email — use the unsubscribe link at the bottom of the message, or email us directly

We action unsubscribe requests within 10 business days, as CASL requires. Message and data rates may apply, and message frequency varies. Transactional messages about a job you've booked — appointment confirmations, arrival times, invoices — are not marketing messages and continue regardless.

Who We Share It With

We share personal information only where it's necessary, and only with:

  • Service providers who help us operate — our website and customer relationship platform, email provider, and accounting software — and only to the extent they need it to do that job
  • Suppliers and subcontractors, where a job requires it — for example, giving a glass supplier the measurements and delivery address for your property
  • Authorities, where we are required by law, court order, or regulation to disclose information

Where Your Information Is Stored

Our website and customer records are hosted on servers operated by service providers located in the United States. Your personal information is therefore stored and processed outside Canada, and while it is there it may be accessible to US law enforcement and regulatory authorities under the laws of that country.

By submitting information through this website, you consent to it being transferred and stored on that basis.

How Long We Keep It

Inquiries that don't become jobs are kept for up to two years, in case you come back to us. Records relating to completed work are kept for at least seven years, which is what Canadian tax and business record requirements call for, and longer where a warranty on the work is still running.

Your Rights

Under PIPEDA you have the right to:

  • Ask what personal information we hold about you and how we've used it
  • Ask us to correct anything that's wrong or incomplete
  • Withdraw your consent to further contact
  • Ask us to delete information we no longer have a legitimate reason to keep

Email us and we'll respond within 30 days. There's no charge for a reasonable request.

If you're not satisfied with how we've handled your information or your complaint, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Cookies and Website Analytics

This website uses cookies to keep it working properly and to understand, in aggregate, how visitors use it — which pages get read, how people arrive, where they leave. This doesn't identify you personally.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Some parts of the site may not work correctly if you do.

Security

We use reasonable safeguards to protect personal information against loss, theft, and unauthorised access — access controls, encrypted connections, and reputable providers. No system is completely secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security, but we take it seriously.

Third-Party Links

This site links to manufacturer and supplier websites. Those sites have their own privacy policies and we're not responsible for how they handle your information.

Children

Our services are directed at property owners and managers, not children. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If we learn that we have, we'll delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes are posted on this page with a revised date below. Material changes affecting how we use information you've already given us will be brought to your attention directly.
